Delivery & Lead Times


Buildmate offers three delivery shipping options, Next working day, Same day for items warehoused at Scheltema warehouse, and Scheduled Delivery (made to order). Made to order covers items that need to be made up and delivery only occurs once goods have been manufactured. In the case of made to order we will liaise with you via email and do our very best to get the items to you more quickly than indicated lead times. For all delivery options we’ll sms you once your order is on its way to you.

What is the order cut off time for Next day delivery?

Order by 4:30pm Monday to Friday for next working day delivery to home or site. Delivery over the weekend can be arranged. See table for prices.

Which products can be delivered Same day?

All products stocked at Scheltema warehouse ordered before 9am can be delivered Same day.

What are your delivery charges?

What are your standard delivery times?

Deliveries are between 8:00am and 5:00pm Monday – Friday

Is delivery over a weekend possible?

Saturday & Sunday delivery is available by agreement. See table for prices.

Can I schedule a particular day for delivery?

Yes, you can if you select Next day delivery as your shipping option and at the same time email us on [email protected] to advise your preferred date of delivery. In such instances we will hold back on Next day delivery and deliver on your preferred date.

What are my requirements at point of delivery?

We will require a signature from a responsible person on site to verify that the goods have been delivered in good order.

Notification of delivery in progress

You will receive an email or SMS notification when your delivery is on its way and a link to live tracking information.

Can I track my order?

You will receive a follow up SMS or email once a Buildmate driver is dispatched with your delivery. This SMS/email will incorporate a link to track your delivery.

Delivery Restrictions

We are constantly expanding the areas to which we deliver but there remain certain locations we haven't been able to reach yet. See table of areas that are presently not serviced.

Can I give feedback as to the service I received?

Yes, once your items have been delivered you will receive a follow up SMS/email inviting you to provide feedback.

I want to collect my items from the store, when is my store open? Can I have my order delivered to a different address?

You can enter a new delivery address while you are placing an order. If you are registered with Buildmate.co.za, you can add multiple addresses to your Address Book.

What happens if I am not in when the delivery arrives?

All orders will require a signature on delivery.

If no one is available to sign the package, Buildmate will leave a 'we missed you' contact card with details of what actions will be taken. An email or SMS will also be sent. Where possible the driver will attempt to leave with a neighbour. If this is not appropriate, they will attempt to deliver the order the following day.

After two failed attempts you will need to make contact with Buildmate using the details on the contact card to arrange collection. A text message / email will also be sent confirming this.

My delivery is missing an item, what should I do?

If you notice something is missing from your order then inform the driver of exactly what is missing. Also make notes of what is missing on your delivery note (the drivers copy of this document which returns back to Buildmate). Buildmate will make contact with you to investigate the situation further.

If you have collected your order at Buildmate and some products are missing, please contact us or return to the store for assistance.

Can I expect delivery even if the area is known to be a high-risk area?

We indicate a price for delivery to almost all areas within a province however there are delivery restrictions that apply to some addresses. These are indicated in the shipping table.
